In a recent blog entry from none other than Eklund, he believes according to his sources, that the Toronto Maple Leafs are prepared to make some major moves at the upcoming draft in late June.
Take it with a grain of salt, but here's a snippet...
"In actuality, there are three deals on the table for the Leafs which will happen by the end of round 1 in the draft. The first one is a big and involves bringing a top three forward, a draft pick, and a VERY good, young goalie prospect for Tomas Kaberle and a prospect. The goalie and the draft pick will be part of a package that will be on the table on draft day, and it is THAT deal which could potentially re-shape the Toronto Maple Leafs ."

Now I don't like writing about potential rumors, but this article has got me thinking. When I get to thinking, it can go any of two ways, wrong and horribly wrong. I hope I can just be wrong in this instance.
The article outlines four potential teams that could be in use of Kaberle: Washington, Pittsburgh, New Jersey, and Buffalo. This is significant because Kaberle has outlined that he would like to stay in the Eastern Conference and go to a winning club. Both demands are met here with these teams.
Now onto my question, if this is indeed happening, what do you think the package could be from the teams?
My best guesses are:
Alexander Semin, Michael Neuvirth, third Round Pick for Tomas Kaberle and Viktor Stalberg
Travis Zajac, Jeff Frazee, and second Round Pick for Tomas Kaberle and Jimmy Hayes
Jordan Staal, Brad Theissen, and second Round Pick for Tomas Kaberle and Jerry D'Amigo
Derek Roy, Jhonas Enroth, and second Round Pick for Tomas Kaberle and Viktor Stalberg.
Now these are just my deals, trying to meet the requirements outlined in the rumor, so again take them with a grain of salt.
What do you believe the potential player packages could be? Feel free to add you opinions and thoughts at the bottom.
Countdown to draft day is on!
