How the Cleveland Browns Will Succeed in 2010
The Cleveland Browns are gearing up for the upcoming season in organized team activities this spring and summer. With last season behind them and the addition of several new players, could the Browns succeed in no longer being in the bottom of their division?
This season could mark the beginning of a new era for the Cleveland Browns. They picked up several notable players last season including Alex Mack, Brian Robiskie, Mohamed Massaquoi, and David Veikune, all of whom now have a year of experience with the team under their belts. In addition to these young players, they also picked up veteran players Jake Delhomme and Sheldon Brown this season.

With such talent joining the Browns’ roster, it may be possible that the Browns could at least see more wins this season, if not a championship game at the end of the season. Now that coach Eric Mangini has had a season to mold his younger players and show them how the NFL works, the addition of talented veteran players like Delhomme and Brown could provide the team with the talent it needs to succeed.
Mangini said in a press conference last week, “Really there are a lot of guys that I have been happy with, especially when you consider that it is a new environment. It is a lot of new material, but it has been fun to watch the progression as we go.”
The Browns do not exactly have a storied history of late, and recently have had one of the worst records in the NFL. Last season they won only five of their 16 games and the season before that they won only four of their 16 games.
This season may be the first in many seasons that the Browns have a real chance at winning more than a handful of their games.
Although the roster this season may provide hope to Cleveland fans, and may bring more success to Cleveland than the team has had in seasons past, it may be a few more seasons before this young team is ready to challenge for a playoff berth.
It seems to me that one way or another the Cleveland Browns will see more success this season than they have in a long time.
