What's Next for the Winners of UFC 114?

Jon LeeCorrespondent IJune 2, 2010

UFC 114 was a disappointing card full of long boring matches and few surprises.

The results though, could have major ramifications within the UFC in a few weight classes, let's take a look at what's likely next for the winners Saturday night in Vegas.

Rashad Evans: Rashad has a date with the Shogun. After executing his strategy well and earning a more difficult than it looked decision on Saturday, Rashad gets a shot at the Light Heavyweight championship he held for a brief time last year. I think Rashad has a better shot than most people think at beating Shogun because of his wrestling background and Shogun's spotty take-down defense.

Michael Bisping: Bisping won against a much tougher than he appeared on his feet Dan Miller. He showed that he still doesn't really have the power to finish guys even though eh clearly controlled the pace of the second and third round. I'd like to see Bisping get a rematch with Wanderlei Silva as their contest was close and neither of them seem worthy of being called legit contenders at 185.

Mike Russow: Russow had the most interesting win of the night, when after getting pounded for a round and a half by Todd Dufee he landed a devastating right and knocked Dufee out cold. It was not a good performance and Russow said as much but he could present an interesting match up with the Heavyweight gatekeepers like Cheick Kongo or Gabriel Gonzaga.

John Hathaway: Hathaway dominated the entire fight against Diego Sanchez and I believe announced himself as a legitimate fighter in the welterweight division. I think the next step is to see him against a fighter like Paulo Thiago or John Matt Serra would work nicely for his next step forward.
