Heat to Target Guard Position

Baseball Trade Deadline

As the major league baseball trade deadline nears ever closer, teams in the hunt may look to make a "blockbuster" deal to improve themselves and teams out of the hunt may be thinking about cleaning house (see Oakland A's). Same is true for fantasy teams and their prospective owners.

I am currently sitting in 4th place in my 12 team roto-league pondering such moves that could boost some of my teams weaker categories. My two weakest categories are batting average and stolen bases, where I am second to last in both. Since the June 13th weekend, my team's batting average has dropped faster than the current stock market numbers going from .277 to .262. With such names as Ken Griffy Jr., Jack Cust, Justin Upton, and Jarrod Saltalamacchia all hitting well below .250 it's no wonder. But, even though I have encountered this horrid streak, I am still only 4 points behind the 5th place guy. So any increase I can get in BA could be big.

As for stolen bases, I may just have to punt the category since I am 20 SBs behind the next place guy. Stolen bases is just one of those categories where you either got 'em or you don't since they are pretty tough to come by.

Most of my team's points come from my DOMINANT pitching staff, led by the second and third ranked pitchers in the YAHOO! game (Cliff Lee and Justin Duchscherer, respectively) along with big name guys (Johan Santana, Billy Wagner and Daisuke Matsuzaka) and a few hidden surprises (Gavin Floyd, George Sherrill and Ted Lilly).

I could definitely use help in all 5 offensive categories (R, HR, RBI, AVG., SB), so my question is, do I try and sit on my current team and pray for the best, or do I trade someone like Justin Duchscherer, sacrificing some pitching numbers for offense?

Heck, the Oakland A's would.

Any input would be greatly appreciated. Here is my current roster:
