WWE Blood Ban...More After Than Before?

John BetschelMay 29, 2010

With the PG era in full affect, the WWE banned three things that the fans loved.

Blood, chair shots to the head, and half naked (sometimes more) divas.

Now, two of those things have been controlled, but the third not so much.

I am talking about blood. Ever since the WWE has put a ban on blood (wrestlers blading themselves), it seems like everytime you turn around someone is bleeding.

This past Smackdown, Undertaker was bleeding from the mouth after his match with Mysterio, which is by the way probably the reason he did not stick his tongue out like he always does when he pins his opponent after the tombstone.

At the Over The Limit PPV this past Sunday, CM Punk got busted open by Mysterio and required 13-15 staples in his head, Cena also got busted open after a powerslam through the announce table by Batista.

It seems like the harder the WWE tries to keep the blood away, the superstars are getting busted open at the drop of a hat.

In my entire almost 19 years of watching wrestling, I have never seen so many superstars busted open accidentally.

This leads me to believe is this coincidence or something else?

I can see why they do not want wrestlers blading themselves, but if they get busted open just by wrestling their match, then I say let it go.

I was absolutely shocked Punk had to have that many staples to close up his wound. It did not look that bad to me, but in those cases it would be fine to tend to the wrestler during the match.

But when someone gets a little tiny cut like The Miz did awhile back in his match with Kofi Kingston, just let the match go until the end then tend to the wrestler, especially if the wrestler is heel.

When Batista got busted open in one of his matches back a little while ago, it escapes me right now who he wrestled, but he got busted open and when they tried to tend to him during the match he shoved the med guy away and finished the match.

So maybe what the WWE should do is just ban blading, and not blood all together.

I know they are trying to be all PG, but calling Vickey Guerrero a cougar all the time and having her wear that cougar necklace, along with her sexual innuendos toward Dolf Zigler this past Friday's Smackdown is not very PG if you ask me.

What do you think though?

Is it just me, or since the WWE has banned blood all together have we seen a lot more of it than back when they were blading?
