Will the Detroit Lions Restore Their Roar in 2010?

I will be the first to admit that I have been a Lions fan my entire life,  so I am always a little optimistic in the offseason, but this year I think I actually have a reason to be.  I am predicting a 10-6 record this year.  10-6 is a huge accomplishment for the Lions, especially with a tough schedule.  I'm sure some are even wondering how the Lions will win 10 this year.  Allow me to show them:

Week 1 vs the Bears. (Win)

Chicago has Detroit's former coach and their former O.C.  During the time the two spent together in Detroit, look what happened.  Rod is not a defensive genius like he was presented to be, and Martz has flipped his lid and has done nothing since his days with the Rams.  I  see the Lions winning their opening day game by the score of 27 -20

Week 2 vs the Eagles (Win)

Philly has a new QB in charge, but he is a good one.  I just dont think that he will have total control by Week Two.  Philly also has Ernie Simms as a starting LB, and we all know Ernie has some tackling issues.  I actually am picking the Lions to upset the Eagles by the score of 20-17

Week 3 vs the Vikings (Lose)

Not sure if Favre will be there, but I think he will.  On paper, the Vikes should not have problems with Detroit.  However, it seems like they always do.  For some reason, AP fumbles against the Lions, and the Lions seem to play good against them even with the bad teams we have had on the field in the past.  With a good team on the field for Detroit this year, I see things going differently.  I do think the Lions get their first loss of the season in Minnesota though, by a score of 23-17

Week 4 vs the Packers (Lose)

The Packers are the best team in our division, but the Lions normally play them pretty well too.  But I do see them losing in Green Bay by the score of 30-20

Week 5 vs Rams (Win)

I think the Rams are the new Lions.  They has a rookie QB with a lot of talent and question marks all over the team.  I think the Lions get back on the winning side with a pretty solid win, by the score of 27-13

Week 6 vs the Giants (Win)

I am not scared by the Giants.  I think Eli was exposed for what he is last year (which is a slightly better than average QB) and the rest of the team is aging.  I see another upset here by the score of 20-17

Week 7 BYE

Week 8 vs the Redskins (Win)

Detroit beat them last year when they had Cambell, but the Lions had a much worse team.  I see them winning again this year by the score of 16-13

Week 9  vs the Jets (Lose)

I think Stafford is better the Sanchez, however, the Jets are dominate.  Not much of a chance here for Detroit as I see a big loss here by the score of 30-13

Week 10 vs the Bills (Win)

The Bills have a lot of questions to answer, and one of them will be "How did you lose to Detroit"?  I see a Lions win by the score of 23-20

Week 11 vs the Cowboys (Lose)

Dallas is pretty loaded up in talent and although the Lions play decently against them, I see Romo and the 'Boys pulling this one off by the score of 27-17

Week 12 vs the Pats on Turkey Day. (Lose)

I dont like this match up and I think Brady will have a big day.  Detroit plays well, but just not quite well enough in a close game.  Pats win by the score of 30-27

Week 13 vs the Bears. (Win)

I know I might be crazy, but I think the Lions will sweep Chicago this year and win this game by the score of 20-10

Week 14 vs the Packers. (Win)

I know the Packers are a very good team, but  I see Detroit with an upset here and they win at home by the score of 24-21

Week 15 vs the Bucs (Win)

The Bucs may been tied with the Rams for being the new Lions.

I see a big win for Detroit here by the score of 27-10

Week 16 vs the Dolphins (Lose)

Miami is a pretty good team and with B. Marshall, they got a lot better.  I see the Lions losing this shoot out by the score of 35-33

Week 17 vs the Vikings (Win)

Once again a close game, but this time with a different outcome.  Minnesota gives some starters a break and the Lions actually win by the score of 24-17

So there you have it.  10-6 and a Playoff birth.  We will probably lose in the first
