County Championship Division One has a new leader in Yorkshire, after they drew with Hampshire and Kent became the final side to pick up their first win in this round.

Yorkshire go top on 116 points with three wins, one defeat, and three draws after their draw with Hampshire.

The White Rose County fell from 327-3 to make 415 in their first innings as Adam Lyth scored 133.

Hampshire replied with 351, Neil McKenzie hitting 91 and Adil Rashid taking 4-62.

Yokrshire made 292-5 in their second innings before declaring, but Hampshire saw out 14 overs to reach 12-0 before the match ended in a draw.

Nottinghamshire are second on 96 points after four wins and one defeat and did not play this round so have two games in hand over Yorkshire.

Lancashire are third on 89 points with three wins and three draws after battling to preserve their unbeaten record with Essex at Old Trafford.

Essex were put into bat and made 307, Ryan ten Doeschate top scoring with 85 while Simon Kerrigan took 6-74.

Lancashire scrambled to 184 thanks to Saj Mahmood's run-a-ball 58.

In a rain interrupted second innings, Essex declared on 212-5.

Needing 336 for victory Lancashire settled for the draw with opener Luke Sutton making 26 from 155 balls as the home side ended on 177-5.

Somerset are fourth on 79 points after two wins, two defeats, and three draws following their nine wicket win over Warwickshire.

The home side won the toss and inserted Warwickshire, a decision which paid off as they could only manage 127, Alfonso Thomas snaring 5-41.

Somerset made 290 in reply, James Hildreth scoring 131 while Andrew Miller took 5-72.

Warwickshire managed 207 in their second innings, Darren Maddy making 61 while Murali Kartik took 6-61.

The home side polished off the 45 they needed for victory with nine wickets remaining.

Kent are sixth on 66 points with one win, three draws, and three defeats after getting revenge for their previous round defeat to Durham inside two days.

Current champions Durham fell to 121 all out batting first as Amjad Khan took 5-43 and Makhaya Ntini 4-53 as Kent only used three bowlers.

Kent replied with 320, Darren Stevens top scoring with 102.

The home side fell four runs short of making Kent bat again as they made 195, Michael Di Venuto hitting 86, but Ntini ripping through the lineup again with 6-51.

Durham slip to sixth on 62 points, winning two, drawing two, and losing two.

Essex are seventh on 61 points with one win, four draws, and two defeats after their draw with Lancashire.

Hampshire are eighth on 60 points after one win, two draws, and four defeats following their draw with Yorkshire.

Warwickshire prop up the rest on 59 points after two wins and four defeats after losing to Somerset.

The next round of matches, May 29-June 1, has Nottinghamshire facing Essex, Warwickshire playing Durham, and the first installment of the Roses clash as Yorkshire host Lancashire.
