What If Mayweather Jr. Fought Against Hagler, Leonard, or Hearns?
Since Floyd Mayweather is talking a lot of trash and racking up wins, it's obvious to him that no one can beat him in the ring.
I still think he can whoop Manny Pacquiao because he isn't scared of him.
But what if Mayweather fought "Marvelous" Marvin Hagler, "Sugar" Ray Leonard or Thomas "Hitman" Hearns in their heyday?
We all know the answer.
His intestines would turn into jelly.
One look at Hagler, and you could see why Leonard "stole" the fight from him.
Hagler, as intimidating as he was in the ring, should've won that fight against Leonard.
If Leonard would've given him a rematch, Hagler would've knocked him out.
Ask Hearns what happened when Hagler staggered him with a devastating punch before knocking him out.
Now think about the fear Hagler would've put in Mayweather's mind in the pre-fight press conferences.
Mayweather would've peed in his pants.
Leonard, on the other hand, would attack Mayweather non-stop. The hand speed would've been too much for Mayweather to handle.
If Floyd Jr. had any doubts about Leonard, he can ask his father, Floyd Sr.
Floyd Sr. fought Leonard in the late '70's when he was ranked No. 17.
Leonard knocked him out.
Hitman is much taller than Mayweather. His reach would've put Mayweather at a disadvantage.
I can tell you this much: Mayweather would not talk trash with any of those three legandary fighters if he fought them in that era.
They would've stuffed a glove in his mouth to shut him up.
We can visit the time machine and put Mayweather in that era, or we can make Leonard, Hagler and Hearns 30 years younger and put them in this era.
If those guys fought Mayweather today in the pay-per-view era, they would've been millionaires three times over.
