Ring Of Honor: Where Stars Are Born!

Ring of Honor is an independent wrestling promotion, based in Philadelphia that was established back in 2002. The small promotion that nearly went under, due to a child pornography scandal, has become the top independent promotion in the United States. ROH has produced many great wrestlers, some of which have found their way to either the WWE or TNA.

The most accomplished from ROH is CM Punk! He was a trainer of the students at the ROH academy, did color commentating, and won the ROH World Tag Team titles twice with Colt Cabana and won the ROH World championship once. When he signed with the WWE, he went to OVW and won the OVW heavyweight title, before being called up to ECW, where he would win the ECW title! After ECW, Punk would win the MITB ladder match twice, the World championship 3 times, the World Tag team Championship, with Kofi Kingston and the IC tittle. Not bad for a guy who started ROH.

Samoe Joe, Daniel Bryan, Desmond Wolfe, Evan Bourne, AJ Styles, Alex Shelley, Chris Sabin, Jay Lethal all made their names in Ring of Honor before going to TNA or the WWE. Some of these men's career have flourished, while others have stalled, but the fact remains that these men are the future of wrestling and they became stars in ROH!

Even a few established wrestlers have been apart of ROH. Christain and Matt Hardy wrestled in ROH and were very over with the crowd. Jamie Noble, who wrestled as James Gibson, was well received in ROH because of his great wrestling ability and won the ROH World Championship! In ROH, Noble didn't have to play the political games and job to everyone like he did in the WWE. Jimmy Yang is another talent that was allowed to portray his gifts in the ring and was also well over with the ROH fans.

Ring of Honor is the promotion were your talent and abilities out weigh how well you speak on the mic or if your a bodybuilder with a limit amount of in ring skills. Don't get me wrong, ROH has wrestlers that can cut a promo and bring it in the ring as well! Chris Hero is that wrestler in ROH, who has the size, the talent and the mic skills to be a major star in any promotion that he appears in. Plus, ROH has a working relationship with 2 major Japanese wrestling promotions, Noah and Dragon Gate!

If you never seen any of the wrestlers from those 2 promotions, then you are missing some of the best in ring talent in the world! I have been fortunate to see a few of these superstars from Japan, and they are amazing! And you can only see them in the states in ROH or another independent organization!

Fans of professional wrestling should check out ROH and other indy promotions because you could be seeing the next superstar of wrestling! ROH has more wrestlers that could easily be in the WWE or TNA in the near future. Tyler Black, Davey Richards, Eddie Edwards, Chris Hero, Christopher Daniels, Roderick Strong, Austin Aries, and the best tag team in ALL of wrestling The Briscoe Brothers are just a few of the names that people might want to get to know, if you don't already know!
