  • Recent reports have stated that WBO Welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao has agreed upon the request for a 14-day cutoff window of drug testing for the potential mega fight between Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. This was the cause for the fallout of negotiations between the two earlier this year.

  • The manager and trainer of Devon Alexander, Kevin Cunningham, has recently made statements saying he agrees with Amir Khan on the idea of a tournament to unify the Junior Welterweight division.

  • Vic Darchinyan won a unanimous decision win over Eric Barcelona for the vacant IBO Bantamweight title. Darchinyan knocked Barcelona down three times, twice in the fifth round and once in the 11th.
  • Yonnhy Perez and Abner Mares battled to a majority draw in a nonstop fight. One judge scored the fight 115-113 in favor of Mares, while the other two judges scored the fight a 114-114 draw.
  • Rafael Marquez stopped Israel Vazquez in the third round of their fourth fight. Marquez opened a cut above Vazquez’s left eye in the first round before another was opened above Vazquez’s right eye in the third round due to a headbutt.
