It’s been a big offseason for quarterbacks in Philadelphia. We’ve seen the exit of a franchise quarterback, plenty of talk about his heir, and then there’s Michael Vick.

Many didn’t think he’d even be on the Eagles roster at this point of the year, but he’s in OTA’s and making some headlines for himself.

Vick has expressed many times that he desires to be a starting quarterback. This is no surprise, but he won’t see any time as a starter in Philadelphia if all goes according to plan.

Kevin Kolb is the starter and will continue to be unless he gets hurt or plays terribly for many games. Despite his desire to start, Vick is ready to do whatever is asked of him.

In an interview with reporters, Vick said, “I’ll be dangerous” and also said “I’m faster than I’ve ever been before. I’m quicker, light on my feet.” I’m not sure if all these statements are 100 percent true.

I don’t think Vick could be any faster than he was when he came out of college, but I like the fact that he feels he has his speed back and is ready to make plays. You could tell last year that he wasn’t as quick as he was in Atlanta, but it seems he’s in better shape this year and ready to run circles around defenders.

Michael Vick won’t start for the Eagles this year, but he will definitely get his opportunities to make some plays. Vick turned it on late in the season last year, and I’m hoping that his success rolls over into the 2010 season.
