Fight Chix CEO Talks Apparel Brand, Fan Support and UFC Fan Expo
Mixed Martial Arts apparel company Fight Chix provides female fans of the sport an exceptional choice of clothing.
Fight Chix's message is “Empowering Women Worldwide.”
Elisabeth Nuesser, CEO of Fight Chix, explains the motto and how the brand has touched the lives of ladies fighting in Iraq.
“We started four years ago, and we had 'Fight Chix, the sexy side of MMA.' Then as things progressed and in the past year and half, things started taking a wild turn. We started reaching out to our fans, and we really wanted to start hearing what they wanted out of Fight Chix,” Nuesser explained.
“That’s what's most important. If we support them and they support us, then the rest is history. We reached out to them, and the response was overwhelming. Some of it was pretty basic, and some of the stories really touched us because we got some that are women in the Marine Corps that are fighting in Iraq right now.
“They said they wear Fight Chix right now because it feels like it’s their lucky shirt and that the guys look at them differently. We really started to find that our logo was taking to people, and they really started to look at the logo as women fighting for everything. Now, we go by Fight Chix, Empowering Women Worldwide.”
Empowering women they are, as the brand sponsors many of the sport's elite female fighters, including Roxanne Modaferri, Miesha Tate, and Zoila Frausto to name a few.
Nuesser provides insight on a stylish shirt the company developed that displays the company's message.
“One of our shirts is called the empower shirt, and it’s an oversized print with a girl with her fist up. In cursive in the background it says, 'empowering women worldwide.'”
Furthermore, Fight Chix also has very unique limited edition shirts for men that are available, and Nuesser explains the reasoning behind them.
“We just came out with two new shirts for the guys. We came out with a design that said Grappling Instructor on it when we first started, and a lot of the guys liked it. A lot of our friends and fans here in Chicago loved it, so it’s back by popular demand. So we brought that one back and then we have our first signature guy's shirt.
“We did the Yacman (Ron Yacovetti) shirt, and he’s just been great. My husband (Jacob Nuesser) designed this shirt for him, and it’s kind of a different shirt. We’re going to do limited edition and this is the Expo we’re releasing it at (Yacman shirt). We’re also going to have our GIs and that’s something that I’m really excited about.”
Fight Chix will be present at the upcoming UFC Fan Expo this weekend, and they will have items available for purchase. In addition, one can visit the booth (No. 841) for the opportunity to meet fighters and more.
“So far we have Shonie Carter (UFC veteran) and he’ll be signing on Friday and Saturday. Arianny Celeste (UFC Octagon Girl) will be there on Friday from 6-7 (pm), Miss Rara, and Natalie Sky. The booth is combined with MMADieHards.com and that’s Hector Castro and Joe Rizzo. They’re going to be broadcasting out of our booth all weekend.”
With full support from their wide fanbase and the help of an important spokesmodel, the company continues to grow very strong, and Nuesser is quick to give thanks.
“I most importantly would like to thank our fans and supporters. Without them we wouldn’t be standing here so strong after the years. Miss Rara because she’s one of our spokesmodels and she’s been with us since the start. She’s always wearing Fight Chix and constantly supporting.
“We have been really, really fortunate for the people that we have in our lives, and thank you to them for supporting us.”
