As the Flyers prepare for the finals, I must raise this thought. Did anyone really think that the Flyers would miraculously make it to the Stanley Cup Finals this year? I know I didn't.

The New York Giants were the lower seed and the underdog. However, when it came down to which team was playing better together, it was the New York Giants. Yes, the New England Patriots were 19-0 heading into Superbowl XLll, but were not gelling at the right moment.
The Philadelphia Flyers come into the Stanley Cup Finals with the same situation facing the New York Giants in Superbowl XLll. They are facing a superior opponent on paper in the Blackhawks, they are the underdog, and they are the lower seed.
However, the Flyers are gelling together and playing superior hockey when it is needed.
With the Fly Guys on a championship drought since the time Jimmy Hoffa was reported missing, their time to be crowned the kings of hockey has come.
