Flyers-Canadiens: Flyers D Takes Series One Win Away From the Finals
Defense. That was the name of the game that was missing from Game Three at the Bell Centre.
Hi Sports Fans. Sorry I didn't cover an article for Game Three as I was on the road.
To what seemed like the Habs had found an answer to the Flyers' frustrating Defense that caused the undersized Canadiens to falter in Games One and Two, the Flyers' defense was key once again in Game Four they adjusted from Game Three's breakdown the led to the Canadiens' convincing win.

There were other factors in the game that caused the Habs to give up plays. The protective boot cover's straps failed PK Subban and Josh Gorges which prevented them from effectively skating. Unfortunately for the Habs, Gorges' failure created a chance for Claude Giroux who opened up the scoring.
PK Subban was knocked off a play and instead of getting right back into it immediately, he tried to plead with the officials that a penalty should have been called.
The return of Jeff Carter and Ian Laperriere added both offensive and defensive elements to the Flyers' lineup respectively.
Leino got a long pass from Pronger which gave him an open pass to Halak and he got one by his right pad which gave the Flyers a 2-0 lead.
The dagger was put in the form of an empty netter by Giroux for his second goal of the game.
The Canadiens had few chances at Michael Leighton as he only needed to stop 17 shots and when he needed to come up big, he delivered. This is the third shutout game that the Flyers has delivered to the Canadiens which puts the scoring tally at 13 to five in favor of Philadelphia and all five of Montreal's goals came from Game Three.
The Flyers' win puts them one win away from a Stanley Cup date with the Chicago Blackhawks who just swept the San Jose Sharks on Sunday.
The Hab's have been down the road twice before and they are 5-0 when facing elimination in these playoffs. Can they do it again for three more games?
