Yesterday Brett Favre himself reported that he had undergone successful surgery on his ankle. He confirmed this through his website with a statement. “This is to confirm that I did have a procedure to remove some scar tissue and bone spurs from my ankle which had been bothering me for a period of time. I appreciate your concerns,” Favre’s statement read.
The writing is on the wall Brett Favre is coming back to the Vikings.
All the signs were there. The Vikings drafted a developmental project quarterback and they have not searched for one in the free agent market that can play now. Brad Childress has kept in touch with the all-pro quarterback (albeit via text) and Favre has played with the media about his comeback. This seals it. Why else would he have surgery on his ankle? The only answer is to come back to football.
We all know that Brett Favre is a drama queen and he loves the media attention leading up to the season. We all know that he hates training camp and living in the dorms. Well this solves all of that. I expect to see him warming up with high school kids in a few weeks and then there will be a grand parade in Minnesota to announce his return. Since I believe that he is coming back my first prediction of the 2010 NFL season is a big one: Vikings to win the Superbowl.
The Vikings will only compete with the Packers (just like Favre would like it) for the title in the NFC North. That makes them automatic for the playoffs and last year were very close to going to the superbowl. With a rock solid defense that only got better and arguably the best running back in the NFL, the Vikings was just missing one piece, Brett Favre.
Bro Bury Sports has the current odds to win the Superbowl in 2011. They have the Vikings listed as 15-1 and those odds look great to me! Sign up at Brobury sports to see all of the teams and the odds to win the Super Bowl!
