Count Me Out: No Confidence In The Brown's Trio Of Wide Receivers
Last year, The Browns had a group of wide receivers including Mohamed Massaqoui, Brian Robiskie, Chansi Stuckey and Mike Furrey? Oh, wait a minute. The Browns were so atrocious last year that I forget there were wide receivers. Before the Browns broke out at the end of last year and went on a four game winning streak, let's focus on the offense that went 1-11 before they won 4 in a row with Jerome Harrison leading the way and breaking out.
Let's look at their stats from last year, shall we? Mohamed Massaqoui had caught 34 receptions for 624 yards, and had averaged 18.4 yards per catch. Not bad, right? Well, it just gets worse. Brian Robiskie had 7 receptions for 106 and averaged 15.1 ypc. That's horrible. Brian Robiskie was a non factor in most of these games. He was awful, and couldn't get on the field with our crappy receiving core in 2009. That's how bad he was and was a second round pick to boot! Now, Chansi Stuckey, the man who came over to Cleveland in the Braylon Edwards trade, wasn't much better than Robiskie. He caught 19 receptions for 198 yards, and averaged 18.0 ypc.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Game film on these wideouts were even worse. I thought at first, the stats were pretty bad, but when you watched it, they even performed worse than the stats. I don't know how that was possible, but it was, I guess. Massaquoi ranked 4th or 3rd in dropped passes, with Stuckey not too far behind him.
Let's face it, the Browns' current trio of wide receiver is god-awful, with the possible exception of Massaqoui. I don't know if the dropped passes were the quarterback's fault or the wide receiver, but the none the less, they still dropped the ball. Time will tell if the current set of receivers become much better than what were last season with Jake Delhomme at the helm. Just remember, though, if the wideouts for the Browns are still awful this upcoming season and are continuing to drop passes, I told you so.
