Dear TNA: The Gimmick Simply Known As ''Abyssamania,'' Has To End!
What's up Bleaches? ''I haven't got time to waste, so let's bleach it!''
Ever since Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff stepped in to TNA, a lot of things have changed since they crossed the line. The changing of their once-original hexagonal ring, to the more traditional four-sided ring. The disastrous move of TNA Impact from Thursday, to compete with Raw on Monday Nights.
They have even added in a Ranking System, which allows fans to vote on who they think should get the next World Title shot. But! The one thing that has really pissed me off, is the new ''Abyssamania gimmick,'' which they have bestowed upon Abyss himself.
This whole Abyssamania gimmick started a few months ago, when Bishoff tried to take off Abyss's mask. He enlisted the help of Desmond Wolfe, Raven, Tomko, and Homicide, They all failed in their attempt at unmasking him, due to Hogan coming in and saving the day
After these events occurred, Hogan then gave him a pep talk..He told Abyss, how he was once, the most feared man, in the company and now, how sick he is, of him being a neurotic mess.
He offered him guidance and even gave him his own, Hall of fame ring. That was the one of the biggest mistakes that Hulk Hogan has done since coming to TNA.
From then on, Abyss has had, this new confidence booster, because of Hogan and even most of his gimmick traits. He now ''Hulks up'' during most of his matches, wears a jacket, with the same red-yellow colors Hogan used to wear, and even does, some of Hogan's signature moves.
Seeing him "hulk up" and do the ''Poke of Doom,'' is very painful to watch.
They even had Flair's Hall of Fame ring taken away from him temporarily by Abyss. If that doesn't sound like a ''Slap'' to the face, Hogan would then give the ring to that ''Class Clown'' Jay Lethal. Yeah, that was temporary too, but that bull-crap of a storyline should never happened in the first place.
Although Flair went along with it, he still didn't like the fact, that the Hall of Fame rings were being used as props for the storyline and was said to be very upset about it.
A Hall of Fame ring is something most wrestlers work a lifetime for. Wrestlers have bled, sweated, cried, and put their lives on the line for years just to achieve such an award.
Don't get me wrong! I have nothing against Abyss, but TNA really didn't have to do all of this, to push him.
They could have easily just pushed him as, the sick, evil and twisted Monster that he once was, without Hogan and the Hall of Fame rings being in the middle of it.
