Tiger Woods: Forget Golf, It's Time To "Lawyer Up"
You'll have to forgive Tiger Woods if his mind really isn't on golf these days.
And the reasons are obvious.
It's time for Tiger to "lawyer up." And that's what he's doing.
Jose Lambiet's the best at keeping tabs on A-list stuff on his Page 2 blog at the Palm Beach Post.
And he's right on top of Tiger.
Seems Eldrick has hired one barrister named Thomas Sasser. Sasser is the legal-eagle who represented NASCAR's Jeff Gordon in his high-profile breakup back in 2002.
Sasser's expertise is "international custody disputes," according to Lambiet's blog.
Lambiet says that Sasser's marching orders from Woods are to "come up with an agreement that would allow the children to move to Sweden with Elin while protecting Woods' rights and making them enforceable in Europe and the United States."
Lambiet placed a call to Sasser, who naturally said: "I can't confirm or deny this."
And that's as good as confirming it.
Woods is also said to have a trial pitbull in the bullpen, just in case. Guy's name is Jeff Fisher, and he's got a reputation in Palm Beach County. Let's just leave it at that.
Tiger's main goal in all of this is quiet settlement. And that means he absolutely, positively wants it all kept secret, which should come as no surprise from the man who loves his "secrets."
It will be a huge settlement, no doubt, and Tiger doesn't want the amount of that check in the news.
Who can blame him?
