Michigan Baskeball Signs Power Forward for 2010-2011
Colton Christian, a 6'7'' 205 lbs power forward, from Bellevue, Washington, recently signed a commitment to play basketball at Michigan.
Christian played last year at Hargrave Academy, where current Michigan head coach, John Beilein found Joe Alexander when he was coaching at West Virginia.
Christian, who originally signed with Tulane last fall, averaged a double/double at Hargrave last year, with 14 points and 14 boards a game.
The following is a write up from a Bellevue paper:
"Colton Christian, a 6 foot-7 former Bellevue Wolverines basketball player, has signed with Tulane University as part of its class of 2010-2011.
Christian, who averaged 16.2 points and 10.4 rebounds last season, helped Bellevue to a 26-3 record and a third place finish in Class 3A.
'Colton just adds to what we are trying to develop, which is a very athletic team that can play different styles,' said Tulane head coach Dave Dickerson. 'He is a great rebounder and his scoring will come with his activity and with his rebounding ability.'"
Here is ESPN's free evaluation:
November, 2009: Tulane may have landed a sleeper as Christian plays a very efficient, and college ready, brand of basketball. He isn't going to dominate the game with his scoring but has some inside-out skills and impacts the game in a variety of ways.
This would seem to be the end to the Michigan recruitment of Isaiah Sykes .
