A Recap of Last Night's Flava-Ful WWE Monday Night Raw
Sorry about the cheesy headline, I couldn't resist.
Last night Flava Flav was the guest host for WWE's Monday Night Raw, and I am wondering why they even had him on the show.
I get that he is a celebrity who may pull in additional viewers who are fans, but at the top of the show Edge revealed that the guest hosts no longer have any power, so unless this is the beginning of the end for the guest host idea, I don't get why they would continue it when they have no power.

Randy Orton started the show with a promo explaining why he turned down Edge's offer to reunite Rated RKO. He was soon interrupted by none other than Meat Loaf?
Meat Loaf came out and very enthusiastically gave his support to Randy Orton. He presented Orton with the idea of using one of his songs as his new theme. Orton was having none of this, and gave the rock legend an RKO in the middle of the ring.
This marks the second week in a row that Orton has hit the RKO on a guest host. Wayne Brady suffered one last week, and as Edge noted Orton has a history of attacking guest hosts.
Seth Green and Freddie Prince Jr. each suffered a beating at the hand of WWE's Apex Predator. I like that nickname for him too.
Edge then revealed that Vickie Guerrero would be the new GM of Raw, and she placed Orton in a handicapped match for later in the night.
The Hart Dynasty and Jericho and Miz had two matches with title opportunities on the line. Chris Jericho defeated DH Smith to win a shot at the Unified Tag Titles, and Tyson Kidd beat The Miz to win a shot at the US Title for a member of the Hart Dynasty.
After Kidd's victory, Miz grabbed a mic and threw a curve ball by naming his challenger as Bret Hart.
This would be a chance for Hart to win his fifth US Title. I don't see Hart winning the title as this coming Monday will be his last scheduled appearance for WWE, but you never know. I also don't see Hart losing to Miz, so I am guessing they will have something planned to get around actually having a match.
Bret is in no condition to have matches with the like of The Miz so its pretty much a lock that we won't see this go down normally.
Zack Ryder made another attempt to win the hearts of Alicia Fox and Gail Kim when he faced off against Evan Bourne.
Bourne got his first win in what seems like forever, and he left the ring escorted by Gail Kim. It looks like Alicia Fox may be starting an angle with Ryder as she tried to help him win by distracting Evan Bourne. She was stopped by Gail Kim who then left with Bourne.
John Cena came to the ring and called out Sheamus, who took his sweet time coming out. They exchanged words and Sheamus made his way to the ring, but Cena was attacked from behind by Batista. They worked over Cena pretty well 'til commercial.
Batista also faced off against Mark Henry in a match that never got started. Batista sat in the ring in a folding chair waiting for Henry to come in, when he attacked him out of nowhere, beat him with a chair and then choked him out with a submission hold.
This was meant to hype the I quit match between Batista and Cena at the next PPV.
The night ended with the handicapped match between Orton and Edge. Egde's mystery partner was none other than Ted Dibiase, Orton's former stable mate.
Orton held his own against the two and eventually got the win after a little help with a distraction from R-Truth.
After the match Orton zeroed in on Vickie Guerrero who was sitting at ringside. Orton did his Viper in striking position pose for a long time in the ring before approaching her. She looked genuinely terrified as he slowly approached her.
Before Orton could do anything to her she screamed "I RESIGN". Edge then tried to assist but was met with an RKO on the floor. Vickie used this as a chance to escape.
This match really made Orton look like the top dog that he is. It elevated him as a babyface by dispatching the increasingly annoying Vickie, and it allowed him to get a win over two heels without looking like Super Cena.
Overall I enjoyed last night's show, but I still don't get why they have guest hosts if they no longer have power.
Maybe next week they will introduce a new GM.
What did you think of last nights show?
