Why Smackdown Is The Better Brand!

This may very well be another of many articles written about how Smackdown is better than Raw, but this is my turn to chime in on why this may very well be true. The most obvious reason is because there is no special guest host. SD has a GM in Teddy Long and he is doing a great job of just bringing the action every Friday night.

When the draft was complete, most of the IWC feels that Raw has all the big name superstars, and SD has no one. Oh, how wrong is that assumption! SD has become the show, where a wrestler like Cody Rhodes is giving the chance to showcase his tremendous gifts in the ring. I challenge someone to argue that Rhodes didn't have 2 of the best wrestling matches on television against John Morrison and Christain. Much better than any match that Raw produced.

SD has other great talent that won't be buried by the mind numbing guest hosts, or non entertaining sketches that Raw constantly gives us every Monday night. SD has great talent that out shines the Raw brand on a weekly basis. Kofi Kingston and Dolph Ziggler put on a great match this past Friday and SD as a whole, was very entertaining because of the wrestling.

SD also has, in my opinion, the best heel in the company, CM Punk! his ability to generate heat every week is incredible. Unlike Batista, who has to come out sweating, screaming, and changing colors like a lizard, Punk has a method to his madness that makes people hate his guts! Who could ever forget what he did to Rey Mysterio and his family, when he sang Happy Birthday to Rey's daughter? That was classic!

Where Raw continues to anger many fans with the guest host concept and sketches, SD gives the wrestling fan just that: WRESTLING!!! SD does have backstage segments as well, but the difference is that those segments either lead to a match, or it promotes a match that is coming up at a pay per view. I could bash Raw and complain about Raw or I could do what I always do, NOT WATCH!!!

This is my suggestion to the wrestling fan; if you don't like Raw, don't watch Raw! If you want wrestling, tune into Smackdown or record it! It is the superior brand and they continue to prove it on a weekly basis. Some people may enjoy Raw better and God bless them! I prefer to watch the best brand of wrestling on TV today, but I don't get HDNet, so I watch the next best thing..... Smackdown!
