Oakland Raiders I Salute You

   After last season I wrote an article begging Al Davis and the organization to please get rid of the joke we called a quarterback Jamarcus Russell. To my suprise they actually listened to all the fans and answered our prayers. I was furious when I had seen that he was allowed to go to the mini camp last weekend and was almost certain Al Davis would again try to control our season by allowing that cancer to stick around and infect all our up and coming players.

   Then out of nowhere I hear news that Russell had been released and I felt something I have not felt in years. Hope. I now can have true hope that this is the year we contend for a division title and actually look like a football team. Lets face it since Coach Cable has won over the locker room he has brought in hard blue collar players that believe in what he is trying to do.

   Alot is being said about DHB and how he is the next bust but I truely believe he is a grinder and not a diva like the guy on the other side of the bay. He has true potential and I have no doubt he took no time off in the offseason and got right to it so he can prove the doubters wrong. This year we get McClain and let me tell you what an addition that was. He calls Coach the very next day to get the playbook. Thats says it all right there. We have guys in there that are tired of losing and want to change this team.

   Now back to Russell. If no one caught the cell phone interview on Fox Sports the cousin had Russell on the other line and they asked him "So what are your plans right now?" His response was "take a break then get back at it" Take a break! That speaks to other teams that this guy is lazy and has no intentions to be in the league playing quarterback. I thank Al Davis for allowing Coach Cable to get rid of him and getting some great hard workers in the locker room. The time is now in Oakland and this is the year we take the Division.
