Patrick Willis will be the last San Francisco 49ers to ever wear the No. 52.

P-Dub signed a five-year, $50M contract ($29M guaranteed) today, which will keep him in red and gold through 2016.

This is by far the best move the San Francisco 49ers have made all off season and they've made some good ones.

Coach Sing had this to say about it,  "I am thankful that our organization has realized Pat is one of the core pieces to this puzzle, and I am excited for our community, fans, coaches and players that we will have Pat here for a very long time."

This is like the 1983 Chicago Bears signing Mike Singletary to a long term contract before they won the Super Bowl the next season.

I don't know if that actually happened, I am just excited to report that No. 52 is the new No. 42.

Patrick Willis is the next middle linebacker to dominate the NFL, inheriting the crown from Ray Lewis.
