Breaking Down Game Two Between The Cavs and Celtics, The Winner Is..
NBA Playoffs Game Two:
Boston Celtics @ Cleveland Cavaliers
Latest Line: Cavs -6.5 , Total 192.5 (view current line)
The Celtics have been called “too old” this year by many skeptics and the Celtics may have proved them right in game one. The Celtics looked almost dominating in the first half against the Cavs as they built an 11 point lead in the first half only to see it slip away in the second half. The Cavaliers were lead by Mo Williams who embarrassed Paul Pierce with a thunderous dunk, and the usual MVP play of Lebron James. When the dust settled the Cavaliers outscored the Celtics by a score of 58-39 and took game one of the series.
So what’s next for game two?

For the Cavs to win: Lebron James will always put up some big numbers against the Celtics; it’s the other players that will have to play big to win game two. Anthony Parker will have to keep Rajon Rondo out of the paint like he did in the second half. The Cavs will have to use their size down low to beat the undersized Celtics. Shaquille O’Neal only had 11 points and got in foul trouble early. Overall both teams ended the night with 41 rebounds in game one, this number will have to change for the Cavs to win.
For the Celtics to win: The Celtics need to play a complete game to get the win. They need help from the bench and more precisely from Rasheed Wallace. Wallace has been a disappointment all year but Rivers has publicly said there will be a change soon if he doesn’t produce. Overall the team needs to be more aggressive. KG went to the rim for a dunk and then settled for jumpers the rest of the night. Rondo was the most aggressive player on the team and it showed that it paid since he scored the most points and had frequent trips to the free throw line.
The Winner for Game Two is: Cleveland Cavaliers -6.5
The Cavs switch to Anthony Parker on defense against Rondo was a great coaching move. It stopped Rondo and confused the Celtics with spacing on offensive and the move later translated to defense. The home teams have been the way to go and this should change the deeper we head into the playoffs, but not tonight. The Cavs have the size down low and O’Neal, Jamison, and Varejao will have better games than they did in game one. The Celtics are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games playing on 1 days rest and 4-14 ATS in their last 18 Conference Semifinals games. The Cavs are 18-5-1 ATS in their last 24 Conference Semifinals games and 18-7-1 ATS in their last 26 playoff games as a favorite. The Cavs win game two and they cover the number.
