Josh Freeman of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Is He "Joshing" Us?

Can't believe it, can't believe it was there in black and white.

Buccaneer quarterback Josh Freeman had to be kidding. He has to be "joshing" us.

"I like what we had to begin with," he told Rick Stroud of the St. Petersburg Times as he spoke of the current crop of Buccaneer receivers.

Cue a screaming John McEnroe bellowing aloud:

"YOU CANNOT BE SERIOUS!"

Yes, THE quarterback for the Bucs was there at this past weekend's rookie mini-camp taking a peek at Raheem Morris' new prized possessions: Arrelious Benn and Mike Williams, two guys who Morris hopes will upgrade the Mel Kiper described "woeful" receiving corps.

Freeman added, "We're always adding, always changing, always trying to better ourselves as a program. I'm interested to see how these guys are going to blend in because we have Mo Stovall, Mike Clayton and Sammie. I can see a pretty good competition going on this offseason in camp."

What?

Blend in?

Hopefully Benn and Williams will NOT blend in.

You don't want them to "blend in" with that mass of mediocrity that is known as the Tampa Bay Buccaneer receiving corps.

You do NOT want them to blend in. You want them to STAND OUT!

You want them to make the rest of those guys, except Stroughter, look like the inept pass catchers that they are.

You want Benn and Williams to get Michael Clayton fired.

The Bucs have already tried to get rid of him.

Wake up, Josh Freeman.

Quit "Joshing" us.
