Adam Cristman's Impressive Game

Adam Cristman has been fighting through injuries the past few years. It was fortunate enough that he got picked up by Curt Onalfo with DC United. But with DC United starting off with the worst record in franchise history is tough on the nations capital.

The US open play in match on April 28th showed hope to the Screaming Eagles at RFK Stadium. DC United won the match with a 4-2 victory over FC Dallas. Cristman was getting his second career start with United due to Allsopp injury that puts him on the bench for 3-4 weeks.

Cristman knew he need to show up and prove that he can be a starter in this league. His past clubs have been Kansas City Wizards and New England Revolution. He only had 5 appearances with the Wizards because of injuries. But he shined like the sun in New England. He was in the running for Rookie of the Year in 2008 season. He was named player of the Match against LA Galaxy with David Beckham on the field. He scored two great goals to give New England the win on July 4th.

Adam Cristman was able to show his athleticism with jumping for headers and giving great crosses to the new young Andy Najar. He showed awareness in his first goal by chipping the ball over Kevin Hartman's head. He gave a great cross to Andy Najar far post and he was able to bury the ball in the back of the net. Giving DC United a 3-0 lead. A cross from Clyde Simms, who was a halftime sub, gave Cristman a chance to beat Hartman again for the second time. He floated his header over Hartman and the ball went into the empty net. 

Cristman showed he can not only score but can assist with accurate passes and crosses. Curt Onalfo needs to put in the younger players and give them a chance to improve their game. They have veteran players like Jaime Moreno that can show these new kids the ropes. Lets hope DC United can get the season together for chance at the playoff.
