Kyle Busch Denies Gordon Richmond Victory
Kyle Busch denied Jeff Gordon victory wild finish at Richmond Saturday night in the Crown Royal Heath Calhoun 400 from Richmond International Raceway. Busch passed Gordon with 5 laps to go after a several late race cautions held Gordon up from scoring his first victory since Texas over a year ago. Kyle Busch dominated most of the race early, then hometown hero Jeff Burton took the lead and Jeff Gordon would dominate the later stages of the race. When the cautions flew at the end several drivers came to pit road and Busch was one of those.
Crew Chief Dave Rogers put new tires on the #18 M&M'S Toyota Camry of Kyle Busch and Busch worked his way to the front. The late race caution was what he needed to score the win over Gordon. Jeff Gordon had to settle for a second place at Richmond International Raceway while he was second at Phoenix and third at Martinsville earlier this year. Gordon was involved in accident's the last two weeks at Texas and Talladega and has been getting much closer to a victory and it could come next weekend in the Southern 500 a race Gordon has won 4 times.

Jimmie Johnson lost the points lead to Kevin Harvick at Richmond. Johnson is only 10 points behind Harvick going into Darlington next weekend.
Richmond Race Notes
Johnson and Bowyer spun coming across the finish line and Robby Gordon also spun. Denny Hamlin did'nt have a great car all weekend but managed to get a 11th place finish on Saturday.
Tony Stewart, Mark Martin, Kurt Busch and Greg Biffle all finished in the top 20 but were one lap down. Dale Earnhardt Jr was 32nd after a serious of troubles during the race and ended up 3 laps down on Saturday night.
