FC Bayern Munchen, the Unofficial Deutscher Meister
Bayern Munich beat Vfl Bochum 3-1 in their last match at home at the Allianz Arena this season. A Thomas Muller hat-trick was enough to see Bayern move three points clear of Schalke at the top of the table. Christian Fuchs scored a late consolation for Vfl Bochum.
Schalke, on the other hand, saw their dreams for a first Bundesliga championship dashed by Werder Bremen duo Mesut Ozil and Hugo Almeida. The Bayern crowd went berserk after the news of each Bremen goal.
Schalke currently lie second with an inferior goal difference. Bayern currently have a goal difference of +39 and Schalke have a goal difference of +22. Bayern's last game is away to Hertha Berlin.

That match will be Hertha's last game in the capital for a year. Hertha have officially been relegated. Kaiserslautern will be replacing them next season. St Pauli are on course for promotion to the Bundesliga. They are Hamburg's "second" club.
Nuremberg, the second Bavarian club currently plying their trade in the Bundesliga, occupy the second last position in the table. They are three points behind Vfl Bochum with the same goal difference. Bochum currently occupy the "playoff" spot, which is the 16th position. Nuremberg lost 4-0 to Hamburg of all clubs today.
Hanover, who are only two points ahead of Bochum, travel to the Ruhr Valley for a fight against Bochum on the last matchday next week. Nuremberg face Koln and their somewhat invincible Prince on the final day.
As far as European spots are concerned, Dortmund will most definitely be going to the Europa League. Stuttgart will probably be joining them. Hamburg will only go if Stuttgart lose and they win on the final day.
Stuttgart are only going because both the teams in the Cup Final (Bayern and Bremen) have already qualified for European competition this season. Stuttgart will play Bochum next week while Hamburg will play Hoffenheim.
The third Champions League spot will be decided next week. Werder will play Hamburg in a tough derby game next week at the Weser while Leverkusen will travel to Monchengladbach. Gladbach were thumped by Hanover, 6-1 today and Leverkusen drew at home, 1-1 with Hertha Berlin.
A Werder loss along with a Leverkusen win would mean that Leverkusen would play the Champions League qualifiers. A loss for Leverkusen will automatically allow Werder to progress to the qualifiers.
Bayern and Schalke thus have already qualified for the Champions League next season. Schalke have to win 16-0 and hope that Bayern lose by a goal next week to win the title. Schalke will be away at Mainz next week.
The most one-sided result in the Bundesliga is a 12-0 scoreline and Schalke have very little hopes of breaking that record.
Last season's champions, Wolfsburg currently occupy eighth position in the table.
I am not quite sure whether Berlin will care about next week's game. They will perhaps give the substitutes a run-out. Thus, all in all, the title is almost in Bayern's bag.
Avoiding a calamity, Bayern are officially the "Deutscher Meister" of the 2009-2010 season.
