Endorsement was sired by Distorted Humor who has also sired multiple graded winners including Flower Alley, and Kentucky Derby winner, Funny Cide. With Charmed Gift on the dam side, bloodlines suggest that Endorsement should have little problems getting the Derby distance. He did win the Sunland Derby as his final prep to Kentucky which was the same race used by last year’s winner—the aforementioned, Mine that Bird—who captured the “Run for the Roses” in 2009.

Endorsement won the Grade 3 Sunland Derby with ease and appears to be getting better with every race. Trainer and former jockey Shannon Ritter has been training for five years with limited success until her victory in the Sunland. Hard to imagine a trainer with such a lackluster resume winning the biggest race in the world huh? Just ask Chip Woolley. This horse could be live and shouldn’t be overlooked.
