Awesome Act Odds To Win The 2010 Kentucky Derby: May 1st 2010
Awesome Act
Projected Odds to Win: 10-1
Awesome Again–Houdini’s Honey by Mr. Prospector
Awesome Act was sired by Awesome Again, a multiple Grade 1 winner including the 1998 Breeders’ Cup Classic. Awesome Again has sired tons of talented Graded winners including 2004 Horse of the Year Ghostzapper. The dam, Houdini’s Honey, won at distances ranging from 6 ½ furlongs to one mile and a quarter and is a full sister to European champion Machiavellian.
All and all, Awesome Act is bred to perfection for the Derby. Trainer Jeremy Noseda is no stranger to winning a big race. He saddled the 2004 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile winner Wilko. It’s hard not to like Awesome Act, but then again, he was beat soundly in the Wood Memorial by Eskendereya. If you think that Awesome Act can overturn that 8 length defeat from Eskendereya and that he can get a clean trip, then you might have your Derby horse.
