Mourinho, The Only Possible Fergie Replacement

Zaakir HoosenApr 29, 2010

Comparing Managers isn't always the best thing to do, but when looking for a manager to succeed Sir Alex you need the strongest character out there.

Ferguson has been at the helm for almost 24 years, his presence has become part of Old Trafford, for many from the younger generations who are enthusiastic United fans United is Ferguson, and Ferguson is United.

With Ferguson dismissing the notion of him retiring anytime soon, Mourinho will have to wait patiently if he has any ambition of taking over one of the most successful clubs in England.

Speculation surrounding a possible retirement after the next season (2010/2011) by Sir Alex was reignited on Wednesday evening when Mourinho said: "I guarantee that next year I'll be here", this after many were of the opinion that he will end his stay in Italy this season. Could Mourinho be waiting for Sir Alex to hang his boots...

Mourinho's resume boast his successes beyond any doubt, any proves his worth as a probable successor to Sir Alex.

                 FC PORTO

  • Portuguese Liga (League Title): 2002/2003, 2003/2004
  • UEFA Cup: 2002/2003
  • UEFA Champions League: 2003/2004

                 CHELSEA

  • FA Premier League: 2004/2005, 2005/2006
  • FA Cup: 2006/2007

                 INTER MILAN

  • SERIE A: 2008/2009
  • Suppercoppa Italliana: 2008

Currently Inter Milan, under Jose Mourinho is on top of the Serie A with three games left, they in the Champions League final where they will face Bayern Munich. Inter are also looking to add the Coppa Italia to their archievments for the season.

With Inter having to face Lazio on Sunday, the final two games are much easier opposition in Siena and Chievo.

Mourinho was brought to Inter will a clear mission, to win the Champions League, something recent manager failed to archive. His dramatics off the field and on occasion on the field is what makes him amongst the most entertaining Managers out there.

He demands respect, controls the environment, and knows exactly how to play on the minds of opposition coaches and players alike.

For many his too dramatic, for others his pure artistry, a strategist at his best....

In recent times, his been able to be the only manager to play Messi out of the game, allowing very few if any chances at goal. That's an achievement on it's own.

He has the qualities that's neccessary to lead a massive club like United, a club that has fans that demand success, players that demand as much respect as they give back, a history that demands return.

His time at Chelsea was short and sweet, but his return to the Premier League is long awaited, and his time has come, with the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City also looking for suitable replacements, could he look elsewhere or will he wait for the wise all man to empty his office in a season or two...

No matter what happens over the next couple months, Mourinho is the right man for the job, his been well groomed for a huge club, and the time is almost there, but at the end the final decision will be with Sir Alex, after serving the Club for 24 years, you would think he would have the right to choose his replacement.
