Carolina Hurricanes to Open Season Against the Florida Panthers

Robert McGeeSenior Writer IJuly 16, 2008

Mark your calendars, Caniacs. Remember the team that knocked the Hurricanes out of the playoffs in the last game of the season back in April? They will be returning to the RBC on October 10 for Carolina’s season opener.

Revenge should be on more than a few players' minds.

The Florida Panthers will be sans ex-captain Olli Jokinen, but will be filled with hope for a successful new season. They also will be touting a new coach. But more analysis about them later.

The Canes are also scheduled to play a home-and-home series against three wild-card teams in the West—Anaheim, St. Louis, and Phoenix.

The remaining schedule is scheduled to be released tomorrow afternoon.
