Is Bojan Krkic Enough Of a Player To Allow Wenger To Sell Gael Clichy?

Callum D'SouzaApr 27, 2010

As Arsenal's season was cruelly ended after a lifeless draw with Manchester City. Arsene Wenger sole intentions now turn to the Summer Transfer Window. After the Gunners were unable to attract any silverware for a fifth successive season now, Wenger has vowed to bring in new, quality talent to ensure trophies are brought back to the Emirates next season.

As the transfer window is approaching, rumours are spreading fast. One that has emerged is the interest from Spanish giants and current European Champions Barcelona in the Gunners left back Gael Clichy.

Clichy, who has been a stunning presence down the left side for a number of years now, hasn't had the strongest of seasons this campaign but is renowned as one of the best left backs in the world.

Clichy is blessed with amazing pace, leadership, experience, and all in all strong defensive qualities. Arsene Wenger is eager to keep his defensive Frenchman at the Emirates, but if a tempting deal came his way there is every chance he may consider offloading Clichy.

Rumour has it that Barcelona will be willing to add young dynamo Bojan Krkic to their offer if their financial offer is not sufficient.

Krkic, one of the best young talents in Europe, is a small, fierce striker who would bring another attacking dimension to the Gunners, especially beside Robin van Persie.

This season we witnessed the attacking struggles from Arsenal when injuries hit the frontline. Wenger has expressed his desire to bring in new forwards and with Marouane Chamakh all but signed, Krkic may not be ideal.

However, the Frenchman has shown much interest in the teenager since bursting onto the Spanish scene. At 19 the Spaniard has played over 70 games for the Spanish giants, ensuring great experience.

Krkic is also deadly accurate when on goal and posseses speed and a scintillating shot. The signing of Krkic may ensure the departures of Eduardo Da Silva and Carlos Vela, which would ultimately be big losses to the Gunners, but it could mean a stunning youngster enters the North London fray.

If Wenger is willing to give Clichy away then it is whether the Frenchman is adequate with using Kieran Gibbs, who is slowly returning from a serious injury, as the dominant right back. Wenger has Armand Traore and Pedro Botelho in the wings.

Both are young and inexperienced but do posses the traits to become star left backs.

So if Bojan Krkic too much of an offer to let pass? Should he give Gael Clichy away?
