When the Raiders drafted Rolando McClain with the 8th overall pick, the writing was on the wall for Kirk Morrison.  Actually, the writing was on the wall for Morrison when he was issued a third round tender as a RFA.  The Raiders acquired a 4th round pick for his services and used that on speedster Jacoby Ford.

Once again, the Raiders target one of the fastest players in the NFL Draft.  Jacoby Ford ran the fastest 40 yard dash at the NFL Combine.  His 4.28 sec 40 was even faster than DHB's 4.30 last year.  You know Al Davis had Ford on his radar with that blazing time.

When we drafted McClain, Morrison became expendable.  We used Morrison to fill a glaring need.  That is the need of a threat in the return game.  Jacoby Ford provides us with that.  Higgins lost his touch and we had a backup FB returning kickoffs last season for crying out loud.  Jacoby Ford gives us a game changer in the return game.  Give him a seam and you can forget about it.  He is a shifty football player and can take off running and reach full speed in a few strides.

The pick before we landed big Bruce Campbell.  I am loving the way this draft is playing out.  The Oakland Raiders are turning the corner so everybody better watch out.  Here we come.  We are going to make a serious push for the AFC West this year and for years to come.
