Bundesliga Week 32: Saturday's Matches Short Previews

Joe LazarApr 23, 2010

Leverkusen vs Hannover

Leverkusen are going to be without their regular goalkeeper, which is bad news for the keeper more than Leverkusen. The German international might not even be fit in time for the World Cup.

Leverkusen have managed to slip into fourth place, their recent run of awful form has seen them go into a dog fight for European qualification and a loss here could see them go downa further place in the table. With the form they’ve been on it wouldn’t be all too surprising if Hannover will manage to win.

Monchengladbach vs Bayern Munchen

This match could have massive implications on the German title race and if Bayern slip up here Schalke could have the upper hand.

Gladbach’s recent form has been pretty reasonable, but to beat Munich they’ll have to be spot on. Bayern on the other hand are coming off the back of a successful match against Lyon which is surely good for team moral. Munich should almost certainly win.

Hertha vs Schalke

Only two points separate Schalke and Bayern Munich, and to keep the pressure on Schalke will have to win. Schalke’s manager firmly believes Bayern will drop a few points due a backlash of fatigue from the Champions league.

The match should certainly go Schalke’s way and judging by the way Hertha have played this season it seems unlikely that they will pose any real threat to Schalke whatsoever, relegation is all but certain for Berlin and with Bayern to play it doesn't look likely they'll pick up many points from their last few games.

Werder Bremen have managed to claw their way into third place taking advantage of Leverkusen’s awful form. Werder Bremen still have Schalke left to play so a win here is almost necessary if they intend to keep their spot. This should be some easy points for Bremen and on paper they are the much better side.

Neither of the two teams have many injury concerns, with Chihi being the only issue for Cologne and the absent Vander and Niemeyer being the only problems on Bremen's side.
