On the Clock:  Cincinnati Bengals (Round 3)

On Deck: Tennessee Titans (Round 3)

Best Available: Everson Griffen, Bruce Campbell,

10:33 EST: Alright guys, 10+ hours of blogging over the last 24 have me wiped. Time to get away from the computer for a few hours, enjoy an episode of the Wire, and get ready for the best day of the draft! Who will Mr. Irrelevant be!? Tonight is like Christmas Eve!

10:17 EST: Another pretty crazy day. Major story lines were the falls of Jimmy Clausen and Colt McCoy. They both lost money, but ended up in pretty perfect situations. Carolina doesn't have a legitimate starter, but they do have a great offensive line.

McCoy will be able to sit behind Delhomme for a year or two, learn the ropes, garner the adulation of the city, and then take the reigns.

10:11 EST: ...And the last pick of Day 2, Round 3, is Alabama OG, Mike Johnson to the Atlanta Falcons. Versatile, athletic guard who can pull and get on the move. Solid pickup, and draft, for the Falcons.

10:10 EST: Rennie Curran (great name), LB from Georgia, goes to the Titans. Rapper name? MC Ren. Holla!

10:06 EST: Brandon Ghee is the last green room guy to get picked. End of the third round. Seems like a nice guy (based on pretty much nothing, but still). Good for him!

10:01 EST: Jimmy Graham, the U. Miami Basketball player turned TE, gets picked up by the Saints. He's as big and athletic as any player in the draft, but obviously doesn't have the experience. A project to be sure, but has a very high ceiling.

10:00 EST: Colts take USC CB, Kevin Thomas. Very solid cover corner. Thought he should've gone higher than a couple other guys (Spievey).

9:57 EST: The Chiefs take a TE, Tony Moeaki. Lot of people raving about this already on Twitter. A 4.6 guy, Moeaki is a perfect "stretch the middle of the field" player for Charlie Weis.

9:54 EST: Another update from our man on the ground, Lou DiPietro: ALYSSA MILANO IS HERE TOMORROW!

9:52 EST: Browns draft an OG (guard, not original gangster), Shawn Lauvao from Arizona State.

9:50 EST: The Carolina Panther select App State's Armanti Edwards, he of beating Michigan in the Big House fame. He won't play QB in the NFL, but will be a Wildcat, scat-back option. Pretty high price (a 2nd rounder) for Edwards.

9:47 EST: Hometown Niners grab Navorro Bowman, PSU OLB. Absolute steal. First round talent, for sure. Couple off the field issues, but Singletary doesn't worry about those things. Niners are having the best two drafts, by far.

9:46 EST: Disregard that last post. Patriots get a 2nd rounder next year for giving up their 3rd rounder this year. They now have two 1st rounds and two 2nd rounders in 2011.

9:43 EST: Trade! Patriots trade down, Panthers trade into their spot. So tired of the Patriots trading. Just because you can trade down doesn't always mean it's the best move. Why is hoarding 50 6th and 7th round picks smart?

9:42 EST: Andre Roberts, WR from Citadel, is headed to Arizona. Hopefully he has his head on his shoulders a little better than Citadel's QB. Google that.

9:39 EST: Minnesota WR Eric Decker drafted by the Broncos. Looks a lot like Tim Tebow. Maybe they'll wear the same Bro shirts around Denver.

9:37 EST: Eagles take another DT (the 472th  of the draft), UDub's Daniel Te'o-Nesheim. In-house Pac-10 Guru Aron Glatzer's analysis, "Inconsistent, but good."

9:32 EST: Colt McCoy finally comes off the board...he's heading to Cleveland. Never would've guessed he would fall this far, but Browns fans have to be ecstatic. Fittingly, Mack Brown makes the announcement. Shipley and McCoy, college roommates, come off the board on back to back picks.

9:30 EST: The Bengals get one of the B/R favorites, UT WR Jordan Shipley. He's a little old (24), but will be a good slot guy to compliment Ocho Cinco, Andre Caldwell, etc.

9:24 EST: Deion Sanders makes the announcement for the Falcons...and it's Kentucky DT, Corey Peters. Unfortunately, no camera shot of Peters at home with his family. Undoubtedly, he's doing the John Wall Dance.

9:21 EST: Houston Texans select Arizona DT, Earl Mitchell. Pac-10 has had a pretty good showing. Steelers grab WR Emmanuel Sanders, from SMU. Sanders was super productive at SMU last season, though in a June Jones offense that's to be expected. Seems a little similar to Mike Wallace...

9:18 EST: Picks are getting a little more obscure. Broncos select Baylor's Center, J.D. Walton. Hopefully he has a nice butt, for Tim Tebow's sake. Wouldn't want to put him under center for the first time without a center with a nice butt.

9:16 EST: Nope, it's a different Pac 10 defender, U-Dub's Donald Butler. Butler gets the seal of approval from Oregon alum, Aron Glatzer. "Yup, he's solid."

9:15 EST: Trade! Chargers move up and take the Niners 3rd round pick. Who are they targeting here? Griffen?

9:12 EST: Back-to-Back WRs come off the board, as Brandon LeFell, formerly of LSU gets grabbed by the Panthers. I like LeFell a lot. LSU WRs usually get it done in the NFL. Clausen is pumped.

9:10 EST: A Trojan comes off the board, though probably not the one you think. Damian Williams, the WR transfer from Arkansas, gets picked up by the Titans. Seems like they've been trying to find a go-to WR for years now...

9:07 EST: Another hard-hitting SEC DB gets picked. The Giants grab a Safety (surprisingly, given the Antrel Rolle addition and Kenny Phillips draft pick) from LSU, Chad Jones. Another YouTube sensation, Jones also played baseball for the Tigers.

9:05 EST: With their first pick of their 2010 NFL Draft, the Chicago bears select UF DB Major Wright. This guy brings the absolute lumber. Check him out on YouTube. Bone-jarring.

9:02 EST: Jaguars select D'Anthony Smith, DT from Louisiana Tech. Smith has generated some momentum since the end of the season. Was never considered an elite DT...but one of the top 10 at the position.

8:58 EST: Getting a little back-logged on picks. The Bills drafted Arkansas State's DE Alex Carrington. The Miami Dolphins took Ole Miss OT John Jerry, the best two-first name guy on the board, so there's that.

8:54 EST: Packers trade up and grab Morgan Burnett. Burnett is a head hunting, playmaking safety who will contend for the starting job in training camp. Packers have had a hard time solidifying their Safety spot...so solid pickup from them.

8:51 EST: Ravens fill their TE in the 3rd round with Ed Dickson, Oregon's athletic pass-catching TE. Would've been the second best TE in last year's class. Goes into a great situation where he can learn from one of the NFL's best, Todd Heap.

8:47 EST: The Raiders take Jared Veldheer, the massive small-college prospect from Hillsdale, College. He's 6'8, 330 lbs, and can move. Obviously, he hasn't played against elite competition, but given some time, could be a starting NFL OT. Pretty surprising they passed on Bruce Campbell, the OT Combine workout warrior.

8:45: EST: Jon Asamoah gets taken by the K.C. Chiefs. Mike Mayock is raving about this pick and said he should start from day one. Described him as the "nastiest" offensive lineman in the draft.

Raiders on deck...Colt McCoy?

8:38 EST: ...And the Lions select Iowa's Amari Spievey, an All-Big 10 DB. Bucs follow up with Corey Chavous' "guy," Myron Lewis from Vandy. He is a big, physical DB...a perfect Cover 2 player, a lot like Chris Cook.

Some interesting names still on the board, least of which is Colt McCoy.

8:37 EST: Start of the 3rd round! Rams kick things off by drafting USF DB Jerome Murphy. A physical, aggressive corner. Should step in and start from day one.

8:34 EST: ProFootballTalk is reporting that Taylor Mays has unloaded on Pete Carroll. Says he feels lied to...and that Carroll did the exact opposite of what Mays was led to believe. Should make the Seahawks-49ers games even more interesting.

8:30 EST: New Orleans Saints select USC's Charles Brown. Health concerns was the reason he fell this far. Brown is a former TE so he certainly has the athleticism to be a NFL OT...but he needs to put on weight, especially in his lower half.

8:26 EST: Pat Angerer goes to the Indianapolis Colts. Old-school type LB. Not overly athletic, but brings the wood and is always productive. Another understated, but solid pick for the Colts.

8:25 EST: The Patriots draft UF LB Brandon Spikes. Was once thought to be a first rounder, but a doo-doo Pro Day performance (5.05 40) had Spikes' stock falling. New England is a great place for him...Belichick will find the perfect spot for him in their defense.

8:24 EST: Rob Gronkowski is still at RCMH. Shot of him with a Patriots helmet on in a three point stance butting heads with his brother. Dude, go home before the Patriots regret their pick. You are an adult. Get it together.

8:21 EST: The Jets draft Vladimir Ducasse, an OT from UMass. Still relatively new to the game, and playing at a small-school, Ducasse is a bit of risk. Still, he has tons of athleticism and has a high ceiling. Could end up being a steal.

8:14 EST: The Seahawks are reportedly taking Golden Tate, WR from Notre Dame. The 'Hawks great draft continues...their WR corps is the worst in the NFL.

8:13 EST: John Gruden on Ravens' 2nd round: “If I ever get a chance to come back and coach, I’m going to call Ozzie Newsome to make all of my picks."

8:10 EST: Browns don't take Colt McCoy...Montario Hardesty, RB from Tennessee instead. I've always liked Hardesty. He runs really hard. Makes one cut at the line of scrimmage and goes. Should be a good compliment to Jerome Harrison.

Starting to feel a little bad for Colt...

8:06 EST: Cleveland Browns just traded up and took the Eagles pick. 99.9% sure this Colt McCoy. Has to be, right?

8:04 EST: Texans trade up with the Patriots, pick number 58, and grab Auburn RB Ben Tate. Love this pick. Tate is absolute stud. 4.4 guy, 225lbs, tore it up in the SEC. Lot of the sabermetrics guys had Tate as the best back in the draft.

8:01 EST: 700 lbs of DTs for the Baltimore Ravens. Ray Lewis' career just got extended three years.

7:55 EST: The Ravens quickly draft Terrence "Mount" Cody. Haloti Ngata and Terrence Cody as their interior lineman? If they don't lead the league in rush defense, I'll be very surprised.

7:54 EST: Mike Neal, a Purdue DT, gets picked by the Green Bay Packers. His highlights on NFL Network are him getting pancaked at the Senior Bowl. Great pick, Packers.

7:48 EST: Cowboys give up a 4th round pick to move up four spots to draft Sean Lee, LB from Penn State. Will help an aging LB corps...Big, physical LB who is a sure tackler.

7:44 EST: Note on the Niners pick: The second pick they had in the 1st round they received from Carolina, which they used to draft Mike Iupati. Carolina used the Niners second rounder to draft Clausen. Super interesting.

7:43 EST: Jermaine Cunningham going to New England, Carlos Dunlap. Back to Back UF DEs. Mixed reviews by scouts on both, though for different reasons. Cunningham has some bad tape, while Dunlap has some character issues. Will be interesting to see how they pan out.

7:39 EST: The Steelers select a DE from V. Tech, Jason Worilds. Mayock describes him as a "motor guy who gets off the edge relentlessly." A classic Pittsburgh Steelers pick. James Harrison-eque.

7:37 EST: Another potential McCoy landing spot? Though probably unlikely, Pittsburgh fans would love them some Colt McCoy. Gritty QB. Would endear himself to the City immediately.

7:35 EST: Nope, it's Toby Gerhart to Minnesota. That backfield is scary. AP and Toby Gerhart. Who would you rather tackle?

7:34 EST: The Vikings trade up and grab the Texans pick. Is there where Colt McCoy gets taken?

7:30 EST: Chiefs select Javier Arenas. Think this is a huge reach. Alterraun Verner is still on the board, as is Donovan Warren. Where do you put a 5'7 rover?

7:29 EST: Iupati, Davis, and Mays to the Niners. Best team draft so far?

7:23 EST: First word is the Niners draft Taylor Mays. B/R HQ erupts in cheers. Had he come out of school last year, he would've been a top 10 pick. Physical specimen and should start from day one. Of course, huge bust potential...though not as risky in the second round.

7:21 EST: There won't be much pressure in Carolina and they have a solid offensive line. Clausen gets the last laugh.

7:17 EST: Jimmy Clausen is a Carolina Panther. Actually a pretty good situation for Jimmy, considering the circumstances. Could challenge for a starting spot on day one. Matt Moore is not the "long-term" answer.

7:17 EST: Wes Bunting of National Football Post said the Giants' pick, DT Linval Joseph, has more upside than Suh or McCoy.

7:15 EST: The Cardinals draft TCU OLB Daryl Washington, the other pass-rusher who led the Horned-Frogs last year. He's only 225 lbs, so he'll have to put on a little bit of weight. Should rack up some sacks in the NFC West.

7:13 EST: Arizona Cardinals trade up and grab the Patriots pick at 47. The Giants grab ECU DT Linval Joseph, a solid interior run-stopper.

7:10 EST: The Broncos select Utah "OT" Zane Beadles. Mike Mayock quickly points out that in order to succeed in the NFL he'll have to move inside. Doesn't have the height or the arm length.

7:08 EST: The Raiders select DT Lamarr Houston from Texas. One of the last "green room" guys. I don't understand why you'd come back to RCMH on Day 2 if you didn't get picked day 1. You could've had Sage Steele reporting live from your house, Lamarr!

7:04 EST: Ravens, and Ray Lewis, waste no time and draft the best player available, Sergio Kindle. Hugely surprising he's still available this late, but as I said earlier, his knee problem must be more severe when were led to believe. Ray Lewis made the pick for the Ravens...awesome suit, Ray Ray! (By awesome I mean putrid).

7:01 EST: So the Raiders and Pats flip-flop picks, and the Pats get a franchise TE. Still unclear about the confusion there, but it seems to be worked out. Sorry, Rob, but you have to feel a little foolish to be putting on the hat and coming on stage in the SECOND round!

6:57 EST: Raiders trade their pick to the Patriots, and the Pats take Rob Gronkowski. Could be a steal here if he can stay healthy. Seems to be a lot of confusion. Not sure what's going on. Short-wiring. Need caffeine.

6:53 EST: Raiders are on the clock. Do they pull another Mike Mitchell? A player on most teams' draft boards in the 6th round and not invited to the Combine?

6:50 EST: Twitterverse reporting that the Bills select Torrell Troup, a DT out of UCF. What is going on here!?

6:48 EST: Dolphins grab OLB from Utah, Koa Misi. I thought Navorro Bowman was the best available OLB on the board...that seems to be a trend this year. The bigger name guys are getting passed over. Something must be seriously wrong Sergio Kindle's year.

6:45 EST: As Will Osgood mentioned in the comments, Benn over Golden Tate? Highly recruited out of HS, but didn't produce at Illinois as much as you would've liked. Receivers who don't produce in college scare me...even if Juice Williams is your QB.

6:42 EST: Bucs trade up and nab the Oakland Raiders pick. Is that Arrelious Benn on the phone?

6:40 EST: And the Browns surprise many by drafting a Safety from Orgeon, T.J. Ward. Two Oregon alums in the office jump up with excitement. "He lays the pipe!" screams Aron Glatzer. Get your mind out of the gutter, people.

6:38 EST: Jim Brown announcing the next pick. Tom Jackson called him the greatest football player of all time? No one beats Walter Payton in my book.

6:36 EST: Allen pick comes in. Already being called the "Donovan McNabb pick." Was giving up Donovan McNabb worth Nate Allen? Eh...

6:32 EST: Eagles are on the clock. My guess? Nate Allen, Safety from USF. Guy brings the wood. I was sure they'd take Earl Thomas yesterday when they traded up. Maybe this was their plan all along...

6:29 EST: The Chiefs surprise the ESPN crew and select Dexter McCluster. Had to know that Scott Pioli wouldn't draft Clausen. No way he is giving up on his guy Cassel after one year. McCluster will be a Percy Harvin type for K.C.

6:26 EST: Tip from our B/R reporter on the ground at Radio City Music Hall, Lou DiPietro: The woman who walks the picks up to the podium is very attractive. Thanks, Lou! That's why we pay you the big bucks!

6:24 EST: Golden Tate or Jimmy Clausen...which Golden Domer is going to Kansas City?

6:22 EST: The Bucs select Brian Price, DT from UCLA. Price is a B/R favorite, as is his agent Chuck Price. Good people. Who wants to run on the Bucs next year with McCoy and Price? Nobody.

6:18 EST: Cook is the prototype Cover 2 corner. Big and physical. Fits in nicely with the Vikings defensive scheme. The Chiefs are looming on deck. Does Charlie Weis take over the draft room and draft his golden boy, Clausen?

6:14 EST: The Vikings are up with the first pick of their draft. And...Chris Cook! A big, tall rangy CB from UVA. Definitely is skilled, but was apparently out of shape in some of his offseason work outs. Fills a need, though, with the Cedric Griffen injury.

6:10 EST: As expected, the Rams go after an OT, Roger Saffold in this case, though I thought Charles Brown graded out a little bit higher. Definitely a solid selection by the Rams. Great young OT nucleus in Jason Smith and Saffold. Rams must invest the money to keep Bradford upright.

6:06 EST: John Gruden's hair is far more understated, but equally as terrible as Mel Kiper's. Looks like his mom licked her palm and pressed his bangs down over his forehead.

6:04 EST: Kiper just said there are eight WRs who could potentially get picked in round two. That's really exciting news for me. I played WR at a DIII school a few years ago...keeping my cell phone on "loud."

6:01 EST: I was overruled. We're back to ESPN's coverage. Apparently Mel Kiper's hair has a truly hypnotic appeal.

5:55 EST: Also of note, I put together a second round mock draft (trades not accounted for). The over/under on correct picks predicted is currently at 1.4.

5:50 EST: First poll of the day is up. Who will be drafted first: Colt McCoy or Jimmy Clausen? Rumors are that the Chiefs and Charlie Weis may make a move for Clausen. McCoy seems a likely fit for the Browns. Based on the pattern of this draft, they'll probably be drafted by the Colts and Saints, respectively.

5:45 EST: Mike Shanahan firmly denies the Albert Haynesworth trade rumors to the NFL Network crew. Other sources had said it was all but a done deal. Is this a sign of an early Snyder/Shanahan power struggle?

5:31 EST: ...And we're back for Day 2 of the NFL Draft, rounds two and three. A solid 15-20 players still on the board who received first round grades...the day is certainly set up to be one of the most exciting second and third rounds of the last 10-15 years!

For obvious reasons, the Bleacher Report Draft War Room has made the switch from ESPN to NFL Network for our live coverage. ESPN really served up a poo-poo platter yesterday. Between Chris Berman violently waving at producers, Steve Young interrupting everyone, and Tom Jackson refusing to speak after his Broncos drafted Tim Tebow...well, let's just say the coverage was distracting.

No matter. On to Day 2!
