Welcome to the Bay Area Rolando! What a great way to start off the 2010 NFL Draft by the Oakland Raiders selecting one of the top defensive players coming out of college.

Rolando McClain is the truth and I'm glad I will be seeing him in the Sliver and Black. I, like most Raiders fans, am thrilled to see you joining our team. There were so many reports of us taking other players, but in the end McClain will make our defensive unit solid.

McClain was a player that we couldn't pass up. His leadership mixed with his size and power makes him an instant starter and someone who can help us now. McClain isn't a two-three year project. In fact, McClain now gives us many options for our defense with having him in the middle. The thought of having Kirk Morrison move outside to strong LB and then having Thomas Howard at weakside LB is great.

There are still many more rounds where the Oakland Raiders will be able to address other issues such as DT, QB, and DB.

However, we can't deny the fact of what Rolando will bring to this defense. For the last couple of years you heard fans asking for an upgrade at the MLB spot. This, to me, is a super rare chance that we didn't let slip by us reaching for Jimmy Clausen or Bruce Campbell, both of whom weren't drafted in the first round.

I also had a feeling that teams such as Denver, New York, and Miami would of thought about drafting Rolando McClain had the Raiders not drafted him eighth overall.

Have no fear Oakland, Rolando is hear. I for one can't wait to get him into town and have him meet his teammates and rest of the rookie class.
