Rampage Jackson Taken Down Again, This Time by Cops

Dorothy WillisJul 15, 2008

Here's hoping that using poor judgement does not see Rampage wearing a different type of chains after a regrettable incident with California police officers today.

Two sources that I have read on Jackson's arrest on charges of hit-and-run, and fleeing to evade arrest charges, both felonies, left me a little unclear on the precipitating incident leading up to arrest.

TMZ and Joseph Serna of Daily Pilot.com reported that Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, in his one-of-a-kind truck bearing his image and name, as well as his sponsors names, led police on a "short" chase as he continued to hit up to four cars.  The incident apparently began at 1:30 (California time), and the chase lasted approximately five minutes.

Even after blowing out one tire and continuing to drive on his rim, Jackson refused to stop.  Finally after plowing over a center divider, the truck came to a stop on the sidewalk.

When he finally pulled over and gave himself up, police were very serious in surrounding him with their guns drawn and ordering him to the ground.

No matter what contributed to Jackson's rampage, it will be hard for him to deny the offences, particularly because the police and witnesses can certainly identify his unique truck.

He is in jail on $25,00.00 bond and unfortunately, there may be further charges to come. On the positive side, Jackson who is a resident of Irvine, has only a history of traffic tickets and no serious offences on his record.

As much as I love Page, I am very worried about what this arrest could mean to both his future in the UFC and in being a free man.

No one wants to see their hero in chains unless it is by his own choice.

Now how will I ever get him to Peoria for that chicken dinner?
