Dixon,Hagan,Coughlin,Hines Win O'Reilly Spring Nationals In Houston

Larry Dixon, Matt Hagan, Jeg Coughlin and Andrew Hines were all winners on Sunday at Houston Raceway Park in Baytown, TX in the O'Reilly Spring Nationals. This was Hagan's first ever win in Funny Car ever and Hines first win in Pro Stock Motorcycle at Houston.

Larry Dixon went up against Antron Brown in the final round, Larry Dixon would run a 4.541 @ 222.36 mph to Brown's losing 4.638 @ 173.32 mph both drivers had trouble down the strip but Dixon would the round and took home the victory at Houston. Dixon now sits second in points only 28 back of leader Cory Mac as Tony Schumacher went out in round 1 on Sunday.

Matt Hagan in his Diehard Funny Car scored his first career win Sunday at Houston, Hagan was up against Jeff Arend. Hagan cut a 0.39 reaction time off the line to Arend's 0.74 as Hagan won with a 4.390 @ 247.57 mph to a losing 4.714 @ 231.20 mph as both drivers in this final round had issues down track but Hagan the VA native scored his first win and looks very strong as he is second in points to John Force. Force went out early in round 1.

Jeg Coughlin defeated Allen Johnson in the final in Pro Stock Sunday as Coughlin ran a 6.599 @ 210.77 mph to Johnson's 6.596 @ 210.711 a very close race for Pro Stock and Coughlin got the win as Mike Edward went out in the semi-finals. Edwards still has a huge lead after 3 wins this season at Pomona, Phoenix and Charlotte he leads pro stock points by 192 points.

Andrew Hines won in Pro Stock Motorcycle as Hector Arana went red and the Screamin Eagle Vance & Hines Harley went to the winner circle for the first time ever in Houston. Hines ran a 6.998 @ 196.02 mph as Arana was disqualified going red. Arana keeps the lead in points over Eddie Krawiec by 40 points.

The NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series goes west to The Strip in Las Vegas next weekend for the SummitRacing.com NHRA Nationals qualifying next Saturday at 6pm est on ESPN2 and Final rounds Sunday at 7pm on ESPN2.
