Why Frankie Edgar Has The Answer For The Hilo Prodigy

Michael EastApr 9, 2010

April 10th 2010 will say a lot to the MMA world, and the biggest buzz could potentially come from the Lightweight Division.

Fans out of Tom Rivers, NJ and across the world will get to see the 28 year old in the biggest fight of his career Saturday night in Abu Dhabi.

Edgar is fully aware that his work is cut out for him.

"I know that I really can't come into this fight with a set gameplan because BJ is just so good at adjusting that it poses some people problems when they are stuck to one plan." Edgar tells in a recent interveiw with MMAHawaii.

Since busting onto the MMA scene in 2005, Edgar (11-1) has made a big name for himself in a short time. Edgars one and only loss to Gray Maynard came by way of decision at UFN 13. With that loss aside, Frankie has plowed through 11 opponents and 3 of which came with the "Fight of the Night" awards.

In a sport where conditioning is key, and in a division where fights tend to go the distance, Edgar has the Answer. Out of his 11 wins, 6 have come by decision, showing everyone that Edgar is prepared when it comes to conditioning.

"He has great boxing, great timing, a great ground game. The only thing to question is his conditioning and he has cleared that up recently."

One question that has yet to be answered, is if Edgar can handle to finishing power of Penn? The 31 year old Hilo, HI native has shown many times in the past that, win or lose, his fights are going to end before a judge has a say in it.

With Edgar at the top of his game and facing the biggest test of his career, there is only one question left to be answered....and it doesn't involve talking, or my two cents.
