As long as professional sports have existed, so too has the “secondary” market for ticket sales. Need a ticket to big game…but it’s sold out? Rest assured there will be a few people standing on the corner trying to solve your problem for a tidy sum.

Of course in order to sell you tickets, the professional sidewalk “broker” must first accumulate them himself. And the preferred tool of that trade is their trusty business partner, the standard “I NEED TICKETS” sign.  It’s simple and effective, and it certainly expresses their intent without coming off as too desperate.
