Monday Morning Sports Headline Winner: FoxSports.com

It’s one heck of a day to be a sports headline writer.

The start of Major League Baseball (”Play Ball”), Tiger back at the Masters (”Back on the Prowl”), Donovan McNabb traded to the Redskins (”Flying South”), and the NCAA Tournament final.  Whew.  Headline writers across the country probably didn’t sleep a wink last night; can’t leave any pun opportunities on the table.

For that reason, this week’s sports headline winner is going to something a little simpler.

That’s right; Butler vs. Duke, tonight, in NCAA Tournament final.

Two teams predominantly populated by white basketball players, so we thank FoxSports.com for getting the party started this morning with one of the many adjectives that will be thrown around before/during/after tonight’s game to describe the action.

Other headline writers and game analysts should take note, and consider some alternative adjectives:

• scrappy
• tenacious
• courageous
• gutsy
• spirited
• wiry
• spunky
• vivacious
• energetic
