Liverpool FC Lines Up Dutch Whizkid As Aquilani Replacement ?
It is no mystery now, that even the Liverpool FC gaffer, Rafael benitez is not exactly very pleased with Alberto Aquilani's attitude towards match fitness. The Italian superstar from Roma was thought of as somebody who could take control of the games much like theway Xabi Alonso had done for the Reds. However that was not to be. Not only were Aquilani's chances extremely limited till now, either fearing for the English style of physical or because Aquilani himself had issues about him being fully match fit.
It would thus not at all be a surprise to see Alberto make way for somebody else, much like Robbie Keane, Criag Bellamy etc..
Latest reports suggest Liverpool are really thinking of investing in the Dutch whizkid, Georginio Wijnaldum of Feynoord FC from Eredivisie. Georginio also called Gini has been a true revlation for the Dutch giants. The player who is only 19 years of age till date is an ex-Sparta Rotterdam Player with loads of potential.
Currently the most talented player for Feyenoord, the player has also attracted attention from Big Clubs like Chelsea, Real Madrid and AC milan other than Liverpool. An almost look-alike of Ronaldinhio, the dutch attacking mid-fielder/Right winger however considers Dirk Kuyt his role model. This might just work in favour of the REds as they bid to lure his services at Merseyside , where the youngster would have a chance to play along with his Hero, Dirk Kuyt.
Although, in late 2009 , the player was supposed to have said that he would follow the footsteps of his Role model and ex-Feyenoord Hero, saying that he would leave Feyenoord only when he reached his peak like Dirk. However, if Liverpool FC came calling, the chance to play with his Role model may be just too big an offer to avoid.
The other factor with Gini is that, he has a lesser probabilty to play for Holland this year in the world cup and thus his valuation of around £8 million may not really inflate much and although I personally believe this player would be a replacement for Aquilani, a swap deal with Babel to bring this youngster is also considered a major possibility by the reports . This may really work in the Reds favour as they desperately look for cheap re-inforcements to successfully revert back to winning ways.
