It is being reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter , that Donovan McNabb has been dealt to division rival: The Washington Redskins. While it is still unclear as to exactly what the compensation will be for the Eagles, it is speculated that perhaps, the Redskins second round pick could be in the works along with many other scenarios; such as DE Andre Carter and a fourth round pick.

Again, everything is pure speculation at this point.

While this trade will sends ripples through the NFL community, it holds lesser value for McNabb considering the wilting receiving options that Washington currently has to offer, other than their TE position.

Or will it?

Some could easily say that this type of a trade could revive the career of Santana Moss and further the positive development of Malcolm Kelly and Devon Thomas, and in addition to all of that, is the ever growing running back by committee system that seems to be taking shape.

With a team that is steeped in a running back quagmire, the last thing I think anyone expected was McNabb to come traipsing along since there was heavy speculation that both Oakland and Minnesota were the favored suitors.

In addition to this news, this also means that anyone thinking on possibly drafting Jason Campbell can pretty much bury the notion as his value will certainly become nonexistent.

With Shanny in town, one could make the assumption that the team is slowly being built into a potential powerhouse, but there are plenty of others who will quickly point out that Mike Shanahan could be trying to rest on his own laurels.

Either way, this news should be the forward focus for NFL fans and fantasy football fans alike for months to come.
