Harvick Wins Nashville Nationwide Race In Close Finish
Kevin Harvick took the win Saturday evening in the Nashville 300 @ Nashville Superspeedway in Tennessee holding off a hard charging Reed Sorenson. This was Harvick's second win of 2010 as he won at Las Vegas and was able to take his Armour #33 Chevy for KHI to victory lane in Nashville and get the guitar. Here is the race rundown from the start.
Lap 1:Joey Logano starts from pole alongside Kevin Harvick, Logano would lead the race when on lap 3 John Wes Townley would get lose and smack the wall in turn 1. Restart on lap 7 logano leads and would lead the first 32 laps before a competition caution and pit stops. Restart at lap 37 its Kevin Harvick out front then he battles Brad Keselowski who takes the lead and at lap 43 Jason Leffler hits the wall hard he got turned by the #1 of James Buescher and Leffler goes to the garage. Restart comes at lap 48 Keselowski, Logano and Harvick battle out front and alot of good side by side and close racing at Nashville. On lap 105 Ricky Stenhouse is trying to come to pit road and gets nailed by Joe Nemechek in the 87 and both spin as Stenhouse hits the wall hard. Scott Wimmer is the leader when they go back green at lap 114, and it gets wild as they attempt 4 wide down into turn one and two and it does'nt work. Steve Wallace gets moved up and collects Mikey Kile, Michael McDowell, Jason Keller and Carl Edwards and Colin Braun also get a piece of the action. Steve Wallace hit very hard and was taken to the infield care center and released. After a 15 minute red flag Scott Wimmer leads the race for Jr Motorsports but Logano would get the lead back on lap 122. A few laps later Willie Allen who finished 15th at Bristol has a engine failure caution comes out again. The race restarts after cleanup and on lap 142 Jason Leffler gets into James Buscher and he goes hard into the wall on the front stretch, Leffler is parked and both drivers upset. Logano would lead on the restart at lap 152 but it would come down to him and Keselowski who needed to pit and they did, other drivers such as Harvick and Busch would need to pit and get a caution when Derrick Cope cut a tire and Brian Keselowski spins near pit road. Harvick takes only two tires most everyone else takes four. Harvick restarts and holds the lead as a hard charging Reed Sorenson would try to catch him and slowly get to Harvick but could'nt pass him, it was a close finish and Harvick went to victory lane.
