Jay Feely signed with the Arizona Cardinals.
NFL Kickers. Jay feely is one of those.
I would not want to be one. They have this tiny window during a game where they are expected to perform perfectly. Many times the game is hinged on a field goal and boy oh boy its bad if they miss. Ouch. I would not like to deal with that kind of “you f****ed up and now we are dying, thanks to you” vibe, not to mention the booing/hissing from the fans, and the “you suck” gestures waved at you as you walk off the field. I watched a succession of kickers in last season playoffs miss the field goals and halt their teams chances of going any further. Boo hiss.

2025 Draft Picks Ready For Leap 🐸

Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
Jay Feely was in that camp. But the Arizona Cardinals have obviously seen past that and have no doubts that he can move beyond the playoff “I-can’t-kick-anymore” nerves. He did have a decent record during the year, connecting on 30 out of 36 attempts for the Jets. Its just those last important, got-to-get-it-right playoff games are the ones where the left foot syndrome can’t kick in, (excuse the pun).
So if he’s that good why did the Jets let him go?
Hmmmm lets see…maybe because he “f***ed up” in the play-offs?
That would be my guess but it is partly down to cashola. After all lets not forget that the NFL is a business. The Jets offered him $300,000 less than last year. And Mr Feely has 4 mouths to feed, 5 including his wife. So he signed a 2years contract with the Cardinals leaving Neil Rackers wondering where his next pay cheque is coming from. (english2english: cheque=check)
So Jay Feely won’t be appearing on Hardknocks with the Jets. Instead his kicker boots are filled by Nick Folk.
And Rackers...well we have yet to see where he will end up.
