Serie A Week 32: Saturday's Matches Short Previews

Joe LazarApr 2, 2010

Inter vs. Bologna

Inter Milan have stuttered recently domestically, due to prioritising the Champions league. Whilst they still top the Serie A, their lead has waned significantly and currently they are only one point ahead of Roma.

However, at the San Siro they are still an undeniably daunting opposition.

Inter have kept clean sheets in their last five home matches and it seems unlikely that the lower table Bologna will cause any significant problems for the home side.

It seems almost certain that Inter Milan will win this match.

Cagliari vs. Milan

Inter aren’t the only Milan-based side that haven’t been playing at their best recently. Since Manchester United knocked out AC Milan they have only won one match.

However, this slump in form is topped by Cagliari’s. Since they secured safety from relegation, their performances have been sloppy and embarrassing and they’ve lost five of their last seven matches.

They’re proving themselves to be a team who simply aren’t trying, and it is more than likely that AC Milan will seriously punish this attitude.

Bari vs. Roma

Bari have not beaten Roma in any of their last 14 meetings, and this more than sets the tone for what is likely to occur this Saturday.

Although Bari are on pretty good form and haven’t lost any of their last 5 matches, Roma are on staggeringly good form.

They have scored the most goals in the second half of the season and have an unbeaten run of 21 matches (9 away matches). It seems more than likely that Roma will pick up a result here and keep the pressure on Inter Milan.

Udinese vs. Juventus

Although Udinese are only four points above the drop zone, their home form is surprisingly good.

Eight wins and 27 goals from 14 matches would make it look as though Juventus might not be in for an easy match. Added to which, Juventus have been suffering from some poor away form and are likely to be without Iaquinta, who has been riddled with injuries.

The man to watch in this match will undoubtedly be Juve’s talismanic veteran Del Piero, who seems to have been carrying his side this season.

Parma vs. Fiorentina

Historically matchups between these two sides have been remarkably even, with each side having won 11 matches.

More recently things have been a little more one sided and the Tuscans have won six of the last eight matches. Both sides are on pretty good form.

Parma are unbeaten in their last 6 matches and Fiorentina have won three of their last four matches. This match could go either way, but the Parma might have a slight edge.
