Accused Wife-Beater Valero Should Fight Klitschko With Bare Knuckles
WBC lightweight champion “El Terminator” Edwin Valero entered a rehabilitation center for treatment of drug and alcohol addiction Sunday in the Venezuelan city of Merida.
Valero (27-0, 27 KOs), a southpaw who once established a world record by winning his first 18 prizefights by first round knockout, was forced by court orders to seek help after he was arrested on charges that he harassed his wife and threatened medical personnel who later treated her.
Valero is a fan favorite primarily due to the explosive knockout power that he possesses in his fists.
Additionally, many boxing fans are enamored with Valero’s reckless and frenetic style of boxing in the ring.
Sadly, and somewhat pathetically, Valero’s reckless and frenetic style outside the ring is more of a legitimately intimidating concern than anything he’s accomplished in the squared circle.
This past weekend’s incident was the second time in six months that “El Terminator” has been accused of beating members of his family.
Last September, Valero was fingered for attacking his mother and sister.
Unfortunately, despite ample evidence to the contrary, Valero’s kin ultimately refused to acknowledge that “El Terminator” was a violent menace and they declined to press charges.
While Valero’s wife, Jennifer Carolina Viera, lay in a hospital bed with a punctured lung and broken ribs, the scumbag scrapper became incensed at a cop he believed was pressuring his better-half to admit that her injuries stemmed from domestic abuse.
Like she has in similar cases that transpired previously, Viera defended Valero.
Edwin Valero is a great talent who, with the proper mindset, could become one of the greatest pound-for-pound pugilists in the sport.
Nevertheless, coincidences are unlikely and it’s hard to fathom that all of the charges levied against Valero are part of some sort of conspiracy against him.
In all likelihood, Valero is a violent wife-beater who should not be permitted to roam the streets.
Hopefully when Valero is discharged from the rehabilitation center he will be forced to fight one of the Klitschko brother’s in a bare-knuckle contest.
If such a matchup was sanctioned, Valero would be badly bludgeoned and justice would be served.
