SEC All-Stars Offense: 20-Year Selections
First Team Offense:
Quarterback - Peyton Manning (UT)
Manning's height, football knowledge and athleticism puts him ahead of any quarterback in the last 20 years and maybe even 50 years of playing football in the SEC. Although the spread option is a favorite choice of college football offensive coordinators, it is not what gets a player to the next level.
Though Manning didn't win a championship in his career at Tennessee, he mastered the position as a college player and left his team in position to win a championship the following year with a quarterback half his caliber.
Manning has excelled beyond college to become the best in the business at the highest level in the sport.
Running Backs - Darren McFadden (Arkansas), Shaun Alexander (Alabama), Cadillac Williams (Auburn), Knowshon Moreno (UGA)
Offensive Line - Chris Samuels (Alabama), Shawn Andrews (Arkansas), Andre Smith (Alabama), Michael Oher (Ole Miss), Jonathan Luigs (Arkansas), Ben Wilkerson (LSU), Matt Stinchcomb (UGA)
Honorable Mention:
Quarterback - JaMarcus Russell (LSU), Danny Wuerffel (UF), Eli Manning (Ole Miss), Tim Tebow (UF)
Running Backs - Felix Jones (Arky), Anthony Dixon (MSU), Mark Ingram (Bama), Fred Taylor (UF)
