Today (2003): Wrestlemania 19 Happened; Stone Cold's Last Match
March 30, 2003
Allow me to get through this post with a large grin on my face, because of the proverbial split between “people who enjoy the WWE/WWF” and “those that don’t”….I sit firmly in the latter camp. Nevertheless, Wrestlemania 19 seems to the be the biggest “sporting” event that occurred on March 30th – well, except Secretariat’s birthday, which is equally uneventful.
On this day 7 years ago, WrestleMania 19 was hosted at Safeco Field in Seattle. The event was remembered for producing Stone Cold’s last match of his career, a street fight between Vince McMahon and Hulk Hogan (producing that super sweet picture to the right), and Brock Lesnar stealing the title from Kurt Angle.
I know this because I read the Wrestlemania 19 Wikipedia page. If you have a minute, you should check it out. It will make your life feel a little more meaningful.
Links galore. Wrestling fans are worse than LOST fans; everything has a meaning and purpose. And a lot of dead guys.
Anyway, I suppose if you’re still reading, you actually enjoy wrestling and think I’m a queer. So, how about this…let’s give you a highlight video from Wrestlemania 19.
We can co-exist.
